The food is well worth the money. It was very good but the hot barbecue sauce is hot and I'm a very spicy food eater. The Red Beans and Rice very tasty and the western beans are on point. The waitress Sadia was very friendly and helpful with helping me order and gave me great suggestions. Nice laid back place to get into those ribs. Quiet and relaxing place to enjoy your meal.

I came here when they first opened years ago & wasn't impressed! But I went back today and everything was good! Definitely will come back for more! I got the 3 way with chicken breast (not dry), ribs & brisket! Sides-Mac & Cheese & Greens.

We found this place and Yelp, so thank you Yelpers! We had the brisket and pulled pork sandwiches along with red beans and rice and western beans. Everything was so so good! Next time we'd like to try other sides. It was so hard to choose! Next time we're coming through the area, we will definitely stop!

Probably the best BBQ I have had in Sacramento in a long time. Portion size is huge, I ordered the three way dish and could only finish half of it. It isn't just the quantity, but the quality of meats also. I had the tri tip, ribs, and brisket. The cuts were tender and had a nice smokey flavor. Only caveat is the ribs is mostly bones, so I would avoid it for next time. The 50/50 sauce has a nice kick to it. However, it isn't just "spicy" but had a nice tangy sweetness to it. Baked beans are a bit too sweet by itself, so I used it as a topping for my cornbread and it worked out. Mac N cheese was really good as it was moist and it has crispy top without being burnt. Overall, a really good place for BBQ due to quality and quantity with no compromise.

Excellent help find. The food is so good. I am from the Bay Area and I'm bummed because it was a long drive to get here. But I will be back. I got a pulled pork sandwich with corn and cole slaw. I choose the mild sauce. It was so flavorful and delicious. Everything I had was just delicious My belly if full and happy. The staff was incredible they surpassed my expectations, there is a definite family feel here. Thank you all this was great.

Super clean ! Most BBQ joints have a certain "Icky sticky greasy filmy funk" to them that you just kinda gotta accept if you want smoked meats. MacQue's was not like that. I walked in and immediately noticed that it was very clean. The bathroom was clean. The soda fountain was clean. The staff were all wearing hair nets !! They were practicing safe food handling skills. The staff all seemed to be family. Or at least they didn't seem to despise each other. They were all polite and articulate and friendly and welcoming. The young man that helped me was happily singing to himself as he bounced around preparing dishes. He ran my food to my table instead of just shouting my name. I was super impressed by the staff alone. Now !! The FOOD !!!! I went with 4 meats. I got brisket. I got ribs. I got a beef link and I ordered pulled pork (not 100% sure I got the pulled pork) What I got looked like chicken and was heavily sauced and a touch salty. It wasn't awful but wasn't my favorite and I'm not entirely sure it was pulled pork at all. It definitely wasn't "traditional" pulled pork. The brisket was perfectly mixed fatty and lean. The ribs were tender, well smoked and deliciously meaty. The link had snap and flavor. For my sides I got cowboy beans (chili beans ) and mustard greens. I got a bread roll and a cornbread muffin. The beans had killer flavor. The greens were piping hot. Soft and had a killer pot liquor. The bread was hot and fresh and soft. The cornbread muffin was flavorful and firm. And the price was fair and reasonable. I think that maybe. MAYBE they messed up and gave me chicken instead of pork. But if it was pulled pork and I couldn't tell it from chicken due to orange sauce and salt. That tells you something too. Anyways. Given that most bbq joints I frequent are filthy. Staffed with rude ass miserable people. Constantly "out of this or that". Offer lackluster sides and have exorbitant prices. Macque's beats the shit outta most bbq joints I can find post Covid. They're happy to be there. They take pride in their store. They treat each other and their clients with dignity and respect. (Dude!! I saw a young staff woman carry out a medium sized order for an elderly lady. And I saw the young man that helped me serve a coworker food while the coworker was on break. He made sure his coworker's order was correct AND CALLED HIM SIR!! Not even mockingly. !!!) I wish didn't have to drive 2 hours to get here !!

Corina and I ate here recently for the first time and were impressed. We had the child's plates of tri-tip and brought 1/2 the meat home for lunch the next day! She had the green bean side and I had the mac & cheese. The beans were pretty average and just a touch spicy. The mac & cheese was incredible! We would like to know how they make it so good? Our tri-tips were above average for sure, but I think what they serve at Horn's in Oakland are a little better. We will be back soon.

Visited Mac Que's BBQ and Catering while waiting for an appointment. I was not disappointed. The service was great! The staff was very friendly and attentive. They checked in with me from the time I arrived until I left. I loved the food! I love Mac and cheese and their's is pretty great. I liked mine baked a little longer but that is my preference. I got tri tip and greens. The greens and tri tip was also amazing!! I do not live in the area but do plan to return and eat there again. Highly recommend!!!
